Feliz Navidad
Merry Christmas to everyone reading this blog (I think the count may be up to 4-5 people, one of which is me)! So far this morning, J has thrown an orange at his sister, we waited patiently on the stairs for Debbie to take our picture, we opened presents, and then had a Christmas brunch. Next up: Spending time with the whole family at J’s cousin’s house.

Merry Christmas Eve Eve
Just a short note to let you know that we have made it to Philly (Part 2 of Christmas Tour 2006). Last night: Panzerottis (pizzas folded in half and then deep fried) and looking through old family pictures with J’s family. On todays agenda: shopping for last-minute Christmas gifts, visiting J’s adorable cousins, and spending more time with the Ross family.

Christmas Lights
In honor of the first full day of winter and the fact that we’ve successfully made the first leg of our Christmas 2006 Tour, I thought I would post some pictures of the house. We were really excited to put Christmas lights on the house (okay, I was excited, but since it was another “boy job” and JT had to do most of the work, I think he may have been substantially less excited about it). In fact, I was reminded several times that the largest number of injuries during the holiday season comes from people falling off the roof while hanging lights. Fortunately, JT is an exceptional ladder/roof climber!
Here’s a photo of the living room, all decked out. You’ll notice that my stocking is about 3 times bigger than J’s… it’s because I am 3 times nicer and thus, deserve more presents from St. Nick. Also, the star is falling off the Christmas tree. Next year we may have to invest in an angel, or at least a better star.

Whack-a-Mole
Now that we’ve established that I am (barely) sophisticated enough to write in this thing, I can share some big news with everyone.
We have a mole.
At least, I think it’s a mole. It’s digging tunnels – aerating the lawn – if you will. That’s the good news. The bad news is, that it might look like this:
Again, good news: it is the fastest eating mammal (according to Newscientist, it can find, identify, and wolf down food in a mere 227 milliseconds). Bad news: it doesn’t have a head (and could use a manicure).
In any case, I’d feel a lot better about having a mole in the backyard if it was as cute as morocco mole.

Therefore, it has to go. Fortunately, getting rid of it is a “boy job”, so JT’s on that one…
